BandBox support
The fastest way to reach a person: julianmcg08@gmail.com. It's one developer answering, usually within a couple of days. Telling me your band's name and what you tapped just before things went wrong saves a round trip.
Requirements
iPhone running iOS 26 or later. A camera is needed for scanning; everything else works without one.
Getting started
Sign in, name your band, and choose a two-to-five-letter label prefix — every code you print starts with it, so pick something recognisable like your school's initials. Add an instrument, then print its label from the Labels screen.
Sharing with another director
Settings > People shows your band's six-character join code. They install BandBox, tap Join a Band, and type it in. Everyone in a band sees the same inventory and can sign gear in and out. Only the director who created the band can remove people or generate a new code, and generating a new one stops the old one working straight away.
Printing labels
BandBox builds a print-ready PDF of label sheets on your device, which you can send to a printer, save to Files, or AirDrop. Labels already stuck on instruments keep the code they were printed with, so changing your prefix later doesn't invalidate them.
Scanning isn't working
Make sure BandBox has camera access in iOS Settings > BandBox. Codes
leave out the characters I, O, 0, and
1 on purpose, so if you're typing one in by hand and it won't
match, it isn't one of those. A badly scuffed sticker may need reprinting.
Two devices don't match
Syncing runs only while the app is open on screen, and checks about every thirty seconds. Bring both devices to the foreground and wait half a minute. Settings shows when it last synced and any error the server returned.
I didn't get my sign-in code
Codes expire after an hour, so use the most recent email. Check spam. If nothing arrives, write to julianmcg08@gmail.com.
Deleting your account
Settings > Delete Account removes your account, your inventory, and your sign-out history. If you created your band, this also deletes the band and its inventory for every member — so if you just want out, use Leave Band instead. If deletion fails or you can't get into the app, email julianmcg08@gmail.com from your account's address and I'll delete it for you.
